Stories (Story ID)
The Story ID is a free-form identifier that connects an issue back to its original business requirement or user story. It is separate from the project's automatic key (e.g., SHOP-42) and can be any code or reference from your requirements management system.
Use Cases
- Track which product backlog requirement or user story an issue derives from
- Link issues to external systems (Jira, Confluence, spreadsheets, etc.)
- Group issues that implement the same user story
- Include the story identifier in exports for traceability reports
Setting the Story ID
- Open an issue.
- In the detail panel, find the Story ID field.
- Enter the desired identifier (free text, max 100 chars).
- Save.
Example values:
